Method of payment
The price for the service can be paid by postage stamps or cash, and for contract customers also by postag franking machine, cashless payment for postal services or bank transfer.
The sender does not pay the price if the foreign addressee has undertaken to pay the price to the local post office upon delivery of the item. This is known as international cash on delivery. The post office also provides a similar service to Czech addressees on the basis of a prior written agreement.
Submission
- The shipment can be posted at the post office, with an authorized postal worker, or by placing it in a post box.
- The shipment is always transported by priority mail.
- When posting, the shipment must be marked with a note or sticker saying "Prioritaire".
Delivery
Service "International Tracking"
As of 1 April 2026, you can make use of the additional service International Tracking, which will provide you with visibility of your shipment’s movement abroad.
Alternative services
We recommend sending larger items as Standard International Parcels or International Insured Parcels. If the sender requires the recipient to sign for the shipment or for the post office to be responsible for the shipment, we recommend sending it as a Registered International Shipment, International Insured Letter, Standard International Parcel, International Insured Parcel, or International Commercial Parcel, or as an EMS International.
For contract customers
The Post Office offers contractual customers:
- a simpler method of paying for shipments, either on the basis of a written agreement concluded in advance on cashless payment for postal services or via a franking machine.
- collection of shipments directly from the sender's premises, again on the basis of a written agreement concluded in advance.
