Personal data protection – GDPR
Personal data protection – GDPR
Česká pošta is fully aware of the importance of protecting personal data, which it protects in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation, or "GDPR," which is effective as of May 25, 2018.
Basic information about GDPR can be found on the website of the Office for Personal Data Protection. Basic terms can also be found here.
Česká pošta holds a number of certificates for various areas of activity. Certification according to the ČSN ISO/IEC 27001:2014 standard proves that we have taken the necessary security measures to protect sensitive information, which includes not only personal data but also customer information as a whole. The security measures we've taken are constantly reviewed in light of possible new security threats so that we can determine and ensure an appropriate level of personal data protection.
The protection of personal data is important to us both when we are in the position of a personal data controller, which is the case with our own services where we determine the reasons and means for processing personal data, and when we participate as a personal data processor in the processing of personal data provided to us by other entities. This applies in particular to banks, savings banks, and insurance companies, which set the strictest conditions for personal data protection and choose Czechia for the processing of address data.
