None of the dimensions of the shipment may exceed 150 cm. The sum of the length and the largest circumference of the shipment, measured in a direction other than the length, must not exceed 300 cm. Shipments of non-rectangular shapes are assessed similarly. Exceptions are listed in the table of countries or in the Postal Conditions – International Conditions.

Metod of payment

In cash or by credit card upon delivery and, for contract customers, by cashless payment for postal services or on the basis of an invoice.

Submission

  • Shipments can be handed in at selected post offices, to an authorized postal employee, or to the sender under the conditions specified in an agreement concluded with our sales representative.
  • Commercial parcels to foreign countries can be addressed to selected countries – see the list of countries or the Postal Conditions – Foreign Conditions. 
  • The post office will confirm the submission of the shipment to the sender:
  • The sender fills in the address label.
  • For shipments submitted after the deadline for submission, the following working day is considered the date of submission for the purposes of arranging the delivery time.

Packaging requirements

External and internal packaging must be appropriate to the nature and weight of the contents, the method and duration of transport of the postal item, and the way in which the item will be handled during the provision of the service. Items weighing more than 15 kg must be packaged in such a way as to allow for safe and easy handling, i.e., so that they can be safely and easily handled by two people. What cannot be included in a shipment

A Standard Parcel cannot contain any documents addressed to persons other than the addressee or persons living with the addressee, with the exception of archival materials.

The contents of the shipment must not include items listed in the Postal Conditions of Česká pošta, s.p. – other services, in particular items which, due to their nature or packaging, may endanger postal employees or the public or soil or damage other shipments. The contents of the shipment must not include valuables. For more information, see Prohibited Contents.

Delivery

The post office will send the shipment abroad by the fastest possible means and guarantees that the foreign post office will deliver the shipment no later than the specified working day, see the list of countries or the Postal Conditions – Foreign Conditions.

If the addressee cannot be found at the address provided, the foreign postal service may store the shipment at the post office. The standard storage period for shipments in such cases is 14 calendar days.

The foreign postal service will only deliver the shipment if the recipient confirms receipt.

The postal service in the country of destination will handle the shipment according to the sender's instructions. When returning the shipment to the sender, it will include a note stating the reason why it was not delivered. 

Claims

Complaints regarding delivery of a shipment or failure to fulfill other postal obligations can be filed at any post office. The post office will only accept complaints if the complainant submits the original proof of posting (address label). For more information, see Claims.
