Two-speed delivery mode for letter mail

A two-speed delivery system has been introduced for selected letter mail items. Customers can choose whether faster delivery is more important to them or whether they prefer a more affordable price.

This delivery method can be selected for the following letter services: Standard and Registered Mail, Business Mail, Business Mail – Registered.

Priority shipping will speed up delivery.

  • The ideal solution for urgent letters that need to be delivered as quickly as possible.
  • We usually deliver the next business day after posting.

How to send a letter by priority mail?    

  • Affix a stamp of the appropriate value to the letter (standard letter) (e.g., for standard items weighing up to 50 g, affix an A stamp or stamps with a total value of CZK 36 (according to the Price List of Services) and drop it in the mailbox.

  • When posting at the post office, simply state at the counter that you want to send the letter by PRIORITY.

An economical way to save money 

  • Ideal if you prefer a low price over the fastest possible delivery.
  • Suitable for regular letters that do not need to be delivered to the recipient as soon as possible, but are CZK 5 cheaper.
  • Depending on the selected type of shipment, we deliver in accordance with the new processing method
    • Registered mail, Business mail – registered: within 5 business days after the date of posting

How to send a letter ECONOMICALLY?  

  • Affix a B stamp or a total of CZK 31 stamps to standard letters weighing up to 50 g (according to the Price List of Services) and drop them in the mailbox.
  • When posting at the post office, state at the counter that you want to send the letter ECONOMICALLY.
  • The following table shows the delivery times for standard economy mail.

The time at which you drop off your shipment at the post office is also important for the delivery date. This is the time when we physically collect shipments from the post office, known as the cut-off time.

How the cut-off time affects the specific delivery date of your shipment is illustrated by the example of a priority shipment.

Contractual and bulk submitters

What needs to be done to submit a letter correctly?

In connection with the so-called two-speed system of letter delivery, when submitting bulk mail, it is necessary to hand over individual types of mail according to the selected delivery mode, i.e.

  • Standard/Business letter economy
  • Standard/Business letter priority
  • Registered/Business letter economy
  • Registered/Business letter priority

 At the same time, this regime must also be indicated directly on the shipment or in the posting data.

Priority delivery mode      

  • Shipments are usually delivered the day after they are posted.
  • Shipments MUST be clearly marked with the note D+1
    • printed directly on the envelope
    • or affixed with a D+1 sticker
  • Only letter-type shipments such as Standard Mail, Registered Mail, Business Mail, and Business Mail - Registered are marked.
  • Nothing else is specified in the posting data for registered shipments in paper or electronic form (POL application, ePA).

Economy delivery option

  • Depending on the type of shipment, we deliver according to the new processing method
    • Registered mail, Business mail – registered: within 5 business days after posting, but CZK 5 cheaper
    • Depending on the type of shipment, we deliver according to the new processing method
    • Ordinary mail, Business mail: within 6 business days after posting, due to a different method of processing and transport, but CZK 5 cheaper
  • Shipments are NOT specially marked in any way
  • In the dispatch data for registered items forwarded by ČP
    • The abbreviation EK is used on paper dispatch sheets  (service for economy delivery)
    • Electronically (POL, API, ePA applications, etc.), the abbreviation 1K is used 
      (service for economy delivery)
