Money cash-on-delivery order
|
When using the Cash on Delivery service, the post office collects the amount specified by the sender from the recipient upon delivery of the shipment; this amount will be paid to the sender in cash (for Z/C) or via bank transfer to a designated account (for Z/A). The cash-on-delivery amount may not exceed the maximum permissible amount specified in the Postal Terms and Conditions of Česká pošta, s.p. – International Terms and Conditions, and is paid to the sender in Czech crowns. Example of the Cash on Delivery service in international terms The sender fills out the “International Cash on Delivery Order” and submits it to the post office along with the postal consignment. The sender must mark the cash-on-delivery consignment with the note “Remboursement,” followed by the cash-on-delivery amount in both numerals and words, in the currency specified by the International Terms and Conditions. Any blank spaces next to the amount must be crossed out so that nothing can be added later. |

Payment method
The sender pays the amount of the money order in cash at the time of mailing.
The service fee may be paid in cash at a post office or to an authorized postal employee, or, based on a prior written agreement, by bank transfer or through a payment machine.
Requirements for Posting
- A postal money order can be submitted at any post office or to an authorized postal employee.
- The post office will confirm the submission of the money order amount to the sender on the receipt. This receipt takes the form of a mailing slip, which is part of the mailing document. The sender fills out the mailing document according to the pre-printed form.
- If a foreign exchange permit is required under a special regulation, the post office will provide the service only on the condition that the sender submits this permit to it.
Requirements for Delivery
- The foreign postal service will pay out the remitted amount only if delivery is proven by a written record.
- The foreign postal service will pay out the remitted amount in the local currency.
- The conversion rate will be used to convert the amount to the currency in which it is to be paid out. The conversion is performed using the “selling rate” of the Czech currency against the conversion currency as announced by Československá obchodní banka, a. s., on the date of submission, and the exchange rate of the conversion currency against the currency in which the remitted amount is to be paid, as determined by the foreign postal service.
- If no conversion currency is specified, the conversion is performed using the “selling rate” of the Czech currency against the currency in which the remitted amount is to be paid, as announced by Československá obchodní banka, a. s., on the date of submission.
- In the Postal Terms and Conditions of Česká pošta, s.p. – International Terms (pdf, 5MB), a currency other than the national currency may be specified for the payment of the remitted amount for each destination country, along with information regarding the conversion currency.
- If the foreign postal service is unable to deliver the remitted amount, the postal service will return it to the sender and inform them of the reason for non-delivery.
Complaints
-
The sender or recipient may file a complaint regarding the delivery of a remitted amount or the failure of the postal service to fulfill another obligation within six months of posting at any post office. Based on the complaint, the postal service, in cooperation with the foreign postal administration, will determine whether and how the remitted amount was delivered. The post office will accept a complaint only if the complainant presents the receipt.
