Frequently asked questions about cash on Delivery without a receipt
You can find out the price for services using the calculator on the Czech Post website or in the price list of services.
Products with the option of cash on delivery include: Registered letter, Registered letter – standard, Insured letter, Registered Mail for the blind, EMS parcel, Insured Parcel, Registered parcel.
When submitting items at a branch, you must have a completed new postage slip "PL" (Forms and Printouts) or a new postage sheet for multiple items "PA," or its new electronic form "ePA."
When using a postage sheet, only one selected payment method is possible for the payment of selected cash on delivery items.
Cash on delivery parcels can be posted at any Czech Post office. In addition to the recipient's and sender's details, it is important to write "DOBÍRKA" (cash on delivery) on the parcel and state the amount in figures that you require the recipient to pay upon delivery.

You can choose to pay the collected cash on delivery amount in cash or to a bank account.
You can prepare a cash on delivery shipment online via the Pošta Online website. After entering the details, you will be able to print out the address label. You will also receive a code to present at the post office. After paying the price at the post office, you will receive confirmation of shipment to the specified email address.
Can't print? Then copy the address from the label onto the shipment and write the shipping code above the recipient's address.
You can track your cash on delivery shipment by entering the shipment tracking number on the Shipment Tracking page.
As the sender, you will receive the cash on delivery payment by cash payment slip for cash collection no later than 3 business days after delivery of the shipment to the recipient.
You can pay cash on delivery by card or cash to the parcel delivery service. For letter mail, cash on delivery can only be paid in cash. The recipient also has the option of picking up the shipment at the post office and paying cash on delivery by card or cash.
If the cash on delivery payment has not been made, you can file a complaint either in person at a branch or electronically on the Czech Post website (Track Shipment section).
The shipment will be returned to the sender. In the event of an unsuccessful delivery attempt, the sender will be notified and the shipment will be stored at the storage post office.
Method of payment
Submission
- Submissions can be made at any post office or to authorized postal workers
- The sender's address must be indicated in the upper left quarter of the address side of the item
- If a casual sender requests that a registered letter be sent by priority mail, they must indicate this when submitting it at the post office or mark the letter with D+1
- Priority shipments from contractual senders must be sorted according to the selected delivery mode and clearly marked D+1 at all times
- Registered economic letters must have the "Economically" service in the submission data:
- 1K = in electronic filing data
- EK = in the case of paper filing
- The sender submits the posting data online via the Send Shipment or Online Posting applications, or via the API interface, or fills in the pre-printed Posting Slip or Posting Sheet in electronic or paper form
- The post office will confirm the shipment to the sender in a proof of posting. This takes the form of a proof of posting slip or proof of posting sheet.

All registered letters are provided with a barcode, which makes them easier to send and offers a number of advantages:
- Option to track shipments online – in the Track & Trace application on the Česká pošta website, you can track registered shipments and see, for example, whether the addressee has already received your registered shipment. Contract customers can also take advantage of regular reports with daily updates on the status of shipped items
- Simplification and acceleration of the process of posting, delivery, release, and possible return of shipments
- Reduction of administrative burden – by taking advantage of all the benefits that barcodes offer, you will reduce the administrative costs of shipments
- Option to use cash on delivery without paperwork – no more paperwork and faster crediting of the cash on delivery amount to your account
- Simplification of any complaint procedures

If you want to ensure your shipment, use Insured Letter. Larger shipments can be sent as Registered Consignment.
For contract customers
Based on a contract (agreement) with Česká pošta, you can use the following services:
Returnable shipment
If the customer (addressee of the reply mail) uses this service based on a contract, the price for the service is not paid by the sender, but by the addressee. No additional services can be selected for this service. In addition to other prices for a shipment sent in economy mode, a surcharge of CZK 4 is added.
Document-free cash on delivery
Thanks to this service, you will no longer have to use paper postal cash-on-delivery vouchers. We will collect the cash on delivery amount for you based on electronically transmitted posting data (data file), and the receipt of cash amounts will be faster for you.

PodáníOnline (Online Submission)
Česká pošta has introduced registered mail submissions to the PodáníOnline application, which allows customers to process shipment data and then submit it online to the post office. Once the data has been processed and sent, customers simply drop off their shipments at the post office.
