Qualified and commercial certificates
Certificates can be used to authenticate and authorize their users, i.e. for secure login or creating electronic signatures. Certificates are used to secure communication through encryption or signed messages. A personal certificate is intended for specific individuals, while a seal or commercial server certificate is intended for system devices.
Qualified certificates will help you:
- electronically archive documents
- electronically file tax returns
- send data messages if your company has multiple executives
- communicate with the Czech Social Security Administration
- use electronic forms and e-filing
- work with e-marketplaces
You can choose between a qualified certificate for electronic signatures and a qualified certificate for electronic seals. A qualified certificate for electronic signatures identifies a specific person, while a certificate for electronic seals can be compared to an organization's stamp and is used primarily for automatically sending verified documents.
You can also insert the MPSV Client Identifier (IKPMSV) into the qualified certificate for electronic signature, which is used to determine a unique identity when communicating with the state administration.
Commercial certificate
Solutions for secure login, sending encrypted emails – a commercial certificate can do all this.
A personal commercial certificate is intended for specific individuals, while a server certificate is intended for technical devices (applications on servers). A personal commercial certificate can, for example, increase the security of logging into a data box, while a server certificate is useful for document management or securing communication between servers.
Unlike a qualified certificate, a commercial certificate is not automatically recognized by government authorities. The communicating parties must agree on its use.

Paperwork only at the beginning
Paper documents for verifying the identity of the customer and user are only required when concluding the contract and issuing the initial certificate. You can apply electronically for a subsequent certificate to replace your expiring certificate.

You don't have to worry about the operating system
You can use certificates and generate certificate requests in various operating systems. We recommend the iSignum program, which will help you generate a certificate request.
You can use a chip card or USB token to store your certificate. Storing your certificates on these devices increases their security with a PIN code.
