Postal Museum
The Postal Museum is an institution with more than a century of tradition, a significant museum collection, and international renown. Based on a decision by the Czech government on October 29, 2025, the Postal Museum will become part of the National Technical Museum as of January 1, 2026. This transfer will expand the scope of the National Technical Museum to include the history of postal services and stamp design.
The Postal Museum in Vávra's Mill in Prague is located near the Ludvík Svoboda embankment. The experience of visiting the exhibition and displays is accompanied by a tour of the murals by the renowned Czech painter Josef Navrátil. The Postal Museum in Prague is temporarily closed due to its transfer to the administration of the National Technical Museum and will reopen in spring 2026.
The Postal Museum in Vyšší Brod is located on the grounds of a Cistercian monastery. The extensive exhibition captures the development of postal services and their transformation. The exhibitions of the Postal Museum in Vyšší Brod will be open to visitors for the summer season in April 2026. On July 2, 2026, this branch will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its opening.
