What to do if you are not at home at the time of delivery
What to do if the delivery person doesn't find you at home
- Re-delivery via a standard delivery route
- Extension of the storage period for picking up a shipment already in storage
- Extension of the storage period for picking up incoming shipments
- Change of the storage post office for a shipment already in storage
- Change of the storage post office for all incoming shipments
- Redirecting a specific stored shipment to a new address
- Changing the delivery location (redirect) for all incoming shipments
Redelivery via a regular delivery route
We provide this service free of charge every business day during regular delivery hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This service is available for all types of mail.
How to do it...
- online via the Czech Post web application “Change Delivery Online,”,
- in the Pošta Online mobile app,
- by phone – you will find the phone number of your local post office on the notification, where you can arrange a redelivery date.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for damaged items,
- for items with a declared value of 200,000 CZK or more,
- if you request delivery on the very day the item’s arrival was notified.
Extension of storage period for picking up already stored shipments
If the delivery person has already attempted to deliver the shipment and you are unable to pick it up by the end of the collection period specified in the Notice, you can extend the storage period up to one month from the date on which the shipment was ready for collection (the period for which the storage period can be extended depends on the type of shipment). We provide this service free of charge.
How to do it...
- online in the Czech Post web application Change of Delivery Online,
- in the Pošta Online mobile application,where you can extend the storage period once or temporarily for all shipments,
- by phone - you will find the phone number of your storage post office on the Notice, where you can arrange the extension,
- your authorized representative (see Recipient ID) can request an extension directly at your storage post office upon presentation of the Notice or after providing the shipment details.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments for which the sender has requested the additional service "Store for 10 days only" or has indicated "Do not store" or "Do not extend the collection period,"
- for postal orders.
Extension of storage period for picking up incoming shipments
If you are leaving for a shorter period of time, you can request an extension of the collection period for all types of shipments where this is possible, up to one month from the date on which the shipment was ready for collection. The request is valid for one month and can be submitted repeatedly. We provide this service free of charge.
How to do it...
- by phone - you will find the phone number of your storage post office on the notice, where you can arrange the extension,
- in the Pošta Online mobile app using the Temporary Delivery Change function,
- in person at any post office using the Request - Addressee Action form, or
- your authorized representative can request an extension of the collection period at any post office using the Request – Addressee Measures form.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments for which the sender has requested the additional service "Store for 10 days only" or has indicated "Do not store" or "Do not extend the collection period,"
- for postal orders.
Change in storage mail for already stored shipments
If you are unable to collect your shipment from your designated post office, you can request that it be stored at another post office that is more convenient for you. We provide this service free of charge.
How to do it...
- online in the Czech Post web application Change of delivery online
- by phone - you will find the phone number of your storage post office, where you can arrange an extension, on the Notice, or
- your authorized representative can request a change directly at your storage post office based on the Notice or after providing the shipment details.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments where the sender has indicated "Do not store."
Note:
- you will only be notified of the arrival of a shipment at the new storage post office by SMS or e-mail if the sender has provided your contact details.
Change of storage mail for all incoming mail
If you are unable to collect your shipments at the relevant post office, you can request that they be stored at another post office that is more convenient for you.
How to do it...
- in person at any post office using the Request – Addressee Measures form,
- in the Pošta Online mobile app using the Temporary Delivery Change function,
- your authorized representative can request a change at any post office using the Request – Addressee Measures form.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments where the sender has indicated "Do not store."
Forwarding a specific shipment already stored to a new address
If the delivery person has already attempted to deliver the shipment and you are unable to pick it up, you can request that it be forwarded to a new address in the Czech Republic. We provide this service in accordance with the valid Czech Post price list.
How to do it...
- online in the Czech Post web application Change of delivery online,
- by phone - the phone number of your storage post office, where you can arrange for the shipment to be forwarded, can be found on the Notice, or
- your authorized representative can request it in person at your storage post office based on the Notice or after providing the shipment details.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments where the sender has indicated "Do not forward."
Change of delivery location (forwarding) for all incoming shipments
Shipments can be delivered to any address in the Czech Republic. We provide this service in accordance with the valid Czech Post price list.
Example of use: you have moved to a new address and have not had time to inform all your friends and the authorities.
How to do it...
- in person at any post office using the Request - Addressee Action form, or
- your authorized representative can request the change at any post office using the Request - Addressee Action form.
When the service cannot be provided:
- for shipments where the sender has included the note "Do not forward."
