Safety notice for customers

The Czech Post has long been warning about fraudulent messages that attempt to misuse its name. These messages are not sent by the Czech Post and their purpose is to obtain money or personal data from customers.

Česká pošta nikdy nepožaduje zadání platebních, přihlašovacích ani osobních údajů prostřednictvím odkazů v e-mailech, SMS nebo zprávách na sociálních sítích. Pokud si nejste jistí pravostí zprávy, neplaťte a neklikejte na žádné odkazy.

The most common types of fraud

Fraudsters most often impersonate the Czech Post in the following situations:

  • Messages about undelivered parcels or the need to pay extra charges
  • SMS or email messages demanding immediate payment
  • Links to fake payment pages
  • QR codes leading to fraudulent websites
  • Messages spread via WhatsApp, Messenger, or social networks
  • Fake advertisements in search engines and on the internet

These messages often create a sense of urgency and try to get the recipient to respond quickly.

How to recognize a fraudulent message

Be especially cautious if the message:

  • It urges you to act immediately.
  • It requests payment or personal information.
  • It contains an unexpected link or QR code.
  • It arrived at a time when you are not expecting any deliveries.

If you are unsure, always check the status of your shipment yourself on the official website of the Czech Post or in the mobile app.

How to protect yourself

  • Never click on links in suspicious messages.
  • Do not enter your personal, login, or payment details.
  • Do not pay fees via links in emails or text messages.
  • Use official websites and applications.
  • Regularly update your device and the applications you use.

If you have any doubts, it is better to ignore the message and verify the information in another way.

What to do if you suspect fraud

If you receive a message purporting to be from Czechia Post and you consider it suspicious:

  • Do not reply to it.
  • Do not click on any links.
  • Do not provide any information.

If necessary, contact the Czech Post customer service line.
