The Easter stamp is ready for the Christian holiday
A chick and a painted egg are the main motifs of the Easter postage stamp, which will be issued on March 19, 2025. The design is signed by Anna Khunová.
Easter is the most important Christian holiday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a movable feast, with the date changing depending on the date of the first full moon after the spring equinox. Easter is a time of folk traditions associated with welcoming spring and celebrating new life. In the Czech Republic, Easter is celebrated with a number of traditional rituals and customs – weaving pomlázky (Easter whips), baking lamb cakes, and dyeing eggs.
The postage stamp is represented by the letter "B," which corresponds to the price for domestic standard mail – standard up to 50 g in economy mode according to the current price list of basic postal services – CZK 31 on the date of issue. The stamp is printed in offset on sheets of 50 per sheet, with a print run of 1,050,000 copies as of the date of issue.
