Information from the Czech Post Office regarding the property in Jindřišská
In view of the increasing number of media inquiries regarding the sale of the Czech Post headquarters on the corner of Jindřišská and Politických vězňů streets in Prague, we would like to present the following facts.
It remains true that this property in the center of Prague is redundant for the Czech Post's future operations. In cooperation with the consulting company Knight Frank, which was selected through a tender, we are gauging market reactions and the interest of potential buyers. To date, we have received three official offers to purchase the property.
The Supervisory Board of Česká pošta is regularly informed about these offers by the company's management. The Supervisory Board requests this information on the basis of its statutes. The founder of Česká pošta, the Ministry of the Interior, is informed through the Supervisory Board. The company's management submits all offers for information, including those that are unrealistic at first glance.
"If the property were to be sold, it would only be with due diligence at a price corresponding to the price based on expert appraisals. The money obtained would be used as a key investment source for the modernization of Česká pošta. If these conditions were not met, neither I nor anyone else in the company's management would sign the sale of this valuable property," says Miroslav Štěpán, CEO of Česká pošta, adding: "The sale process is not closed and has no fixed deadline. Jindřišská is still owned by Česká pošta."
