From April 1, 2025, Czech Post will switch to a new method of delivering letter mail.
From April 1, 2025, all registered and priority mail will be delivered by carriers with fixed delivery districts, which will be serviced every working day. Česká pošta expects this change to improve the quality of delivery.
All priority shipments will continue to be delivered by Česká pošta (Czech Post) on the next working day after posting. Registered items posted under the economy service may be delivered on subsequent working days, depending on the workload of the relevant delivery district. Delivery may be spread over several days, for example, in the event of a backlog of priority items or in connection with pension payment dates.
There will also be a change for standard items posted in economy mode. Postmen responsible for delivering standard economy items will be assigned five areas as standard, and these will be rotated regularly, one area per day. The delivery time will therefore depend on the day of posting and the day that falls in the delivery person's weekly schedule for delivering items to the relevant address.
Česká pošta is making these changes due to the continuous decline in letter mail and in an effort to maintain the efficiency of the letter delivery network.
From March 1, 2025, the number of locations for the pilot operation of the new delivery method will be expanded to 82 delivery offices (overview HERE) in order to fine-tune as many situations as possible before launching nationwide operation.
