Czech Post expands smart mailrooms for health insurance companies Ministry of the Interior

Since the beginning of March this year, it has been possible to submit various types of applications to the Ministry of the Interior's Health Insurance Company, known as ePodání, at five selected branches of the Czech Post. Specifically, these are post offices in Slaný, Holešov, Dvůr Králové nad Labem, Kuřim, and Tišnov. From the beginning of December, the number of branches providing assistance for ZPMV will be expanded by another 15 post offices.

"Česká pošta offers the capacity of its post offices to partners who do not provide their services in a given location. Expanding cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior's Health Insurance Company is another step towards bringing selected services closer to citizens," says Pavla Blumenschein, director of Česká pošta's branch network.

The expansion of cooperation with ZPMV follows on from a successful pilot project. Like the cooperation with the Labor Office, it showed that residents appreciate the accessibility of basic institutions and that basic filing tasks that do not require specialized training can also be performed at post office branches.

"We see our cooperation with Česká pošta as an important step towards making our services more accessible to citizens. Thanks to ePodání, we receive applications in digital form without delays and subsequent manual processing costs. Our clients who prefer personal contact or are unable to submit their applications electronically can quickly take care of their business with the assistance of trained postal workers. The expansion of the project confirms that this method of submission is effective and also supports our long-term strategy of minimizing analog submissions and strengthening the availability of services throughout the Czech Republic," says Denisa Kalousková, Director of the Sales and Organization Department at ZP MV ČR.

Czech Post employees identify citizens when they submit their applications, scan all the necessary attachments, and assist them in filling out the required form in the internal system. They then send the data to the health insurance company electronically via a secure channel, which simplifies further processing and record-keeping. Finally, the citizen receives a printed version of the submitted form with the date of submission marked on it. As part of its cooperation with the Czech Post, the health insurance company is looking for ways to simplify the necessary procedure for its clients as much as possible. This option will primarily be used by citizens who do not want to send their data online themselves or who prefer personal contact. Clients will then be contacted by trained staff of the Ministry of the Interior Health Insurance Company for technical questions.
