Czech Post expands branches for Labor Office services
At the beginning of June 2024, the Czech Post and the Labor Office launched a pilot project that allowed clients at selected Czech Post branches to apply for digitized benefits in the area of state social support. Specifically, these are applications for parental allowance, child allowance, or housing allowance.
A pilot test of this cooperation began on Monday, June 3, 2024, in Liberec, and then on July 1, another 50 branches of Česká pošta in the Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, and Vysočina regions joined in. By the end of 2024, the number of selected branches had increased to 57, and from January 20, 2025, another 39 post offices will be added where the three benefits mentioned above can be processed, including the submission of the necessary documents related to the above-mentioned benefits (proof of income, expenses, addition or removal of jointly assessed persons, etc.). .
"During the six months that we have been operating as a smart filing office for clients of the Labor Office, it has become clear that we are technically, personally, and professionally capable of performing this agenda. The Czech Post has branches throughout the Czech Republic, and there is no reason not to use them for services other than traditional postal services. We are currently expanding the possibility of handling Labor Office agenda items to 39 branches, and by the middle of the year, we expect to have a total of 752 post offices with Labor Office counters," says Martina Ivanová, director of the Czech Post branch network.
