An election leaflet is not advertising

As a logistics company, Česká pošta delivers election materials from political groups, parties, and movements to mailboxes based on concluded contracts or orders.

Materials are also delivered to mailboxes that are clearly marked "No advertising." According to the Advertising Regulation Act, materials from political entities are not considered advertising materials, but informational materials. Their distribution is in the public interest, similar to information from state institutions, such as town hall or municipal newsletters. These are unaddressed mailings that are not intended for a specific recipient.

From the perspective of the Czech Post, this is a variant of the Information Material Delivery service. According to the terms and conditions of the service, the Czech Post is obliged to deliver these materials to all house mailboxes, delivery boxes, or P.O. boxes. This includes mailboxes of those who refuse advertising.

The Czech Post is not responsible for the content of election materials. It treats all orders equally, without any preferences. Currently, increased internal checks are being carried out to ensure the correct delivery of ordered election materials. During the pre-election period, the Czech Post is merely the proverbial postman, not an active driver of events.

Ballot papers

Envelopes containing ballot papers are non-standard items within the terms and conditions of the Czech Post. They are delivered to the addressee's address as indicated by the sender in the same way as ordinary items. If a municipality decides to distribute ballot papers itself, the Czech Post has nothing to do with their delivery.
