Statement by Česká pošta on the adjustment of fees for cash pension payments from January 1, 2026

From January 2026, the Czech Social Security Administration will pay Czech Post CZK 94 for each pension issued on a delivery round or at a post office counter, compared to the current CZK 78. This change results from an agreement concluded between the CSSA and Czech Post. This fee is deducted directly from the pension amount paid and is paid by the pension recipient if the pension was granted after January 1, 2010. For older pensions, the costs are paid by the Czech Social Security Administration.

However, we want to offer our clients a simple and convenient alternative – cashless pension payments to a bank account, which are completely free of charge and are faster and more secure. You can easily open a bank account free of charge at any Czech Post office. Post office employees will be happy to help you set up your account and arrange for a change in the method of pension payment.

In addition, for clients who have their pension sent to an account set up at the Czech Post Office, we offer additional services for added convenience. One free cash withdrawal per month at the post office counter and one free cash delivery per month to any address in the Czech Republic.

We believe that this option will contribute to increased convenience and security in pension payments.

The Czech Post carries out the largest cash transactions in the Czech Republic, involving thousands of people and accompanied by strict security measures.
