The Supervisory Board met today in its new composition
The new members of the Supervisory Board of Česká pošta elected their new leadership at their first meeting today. Mr. Vít Pravda was appointed chairman of the supervisory body of the state-owned enterprise.
Other members appointed by the Minister of the Interior are Petr Vokáč, Viktor Janeček, Milan Urban, Petr Prokop, and Pavel Vařeka. Jindřiška Budweiserová, Štěpán Grochal, and Josef Zedník remain as the current members elected by the employees. The Minister of the Interior reduced the number of members of the Supervisory Board from 15 to nine in order to strengthen the body’s ability to act and ensure more effective oversight of the company’s operations.
The Supervisory Board aims to improve the company’s current economic situation. In this context, it has focused on establishing crisis management protocols and regular financial reporting, which will enable the ongoing evaluation of Česká pošta’s financial performance and the implementation of necessary measures. The main tasks of management will be the digitization of the state-owned enterprise’s processes and the modernization of systems serving customers. A separate focus will be the modernization of the branch network to meet customer demands by 2026.
Vít Pravda served as CFO at Siemens and has worked at Lidl Czech Republic since 2001. In his role as managing director and CFO, he contributed to Lidl’s success in the Czech Republic. In 2019, he became managing director of the holding company Lidl International. He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, where he studied automated control systems and later earned a Ph.D. He is also a graduate of the Steinbeis Academy in Berlin.
