Electronic communication between citizens, businesses, and government agencies is a common part of everyday life. The data box system has exceeded 1.5 billion messages delivered. The milestone message was sent from a private company to a municipal data box.
On October 16, 2025, the data mailbox system, which connects citizens, businesses, and public authorities, exceeded the symbolic threshold of 1.5 billion delivered data messages. The milestone message was sent from the data mailbox of a legal entity to the data mailbox of a municipality in the Central Bohemian Region.
This milestone confirms that electronic communication has become a natural part of public administration.
Municipalities use data mailboxes for everyday communication with state institutions and citizens. This moment thus became a symbolic confirmation that digitization has a real impact in practice.
The data mailbox system was launched in 2009 and, in 16 years of operation by the Czech Post, has delivered more than 1.5 billion messages securely.
V současné době je více než 4 miliony aktivních datových schránek, z toho většinu tvoří živnostníci, firmy a úřady. O rostoucí popularitě datových schránek svědčí rychlý nárůst počtu fyzických osob, které si je dobrovolně zřizují. Jejich počet se již blíží 1,2 mil.
