ČSOB and Mastercard to cooperate with Czechia Post on digitization projects

"As a strategic partner of Česká pošta, we support its efforts to provide clients with modern, high-quality financial services. We have been innovating its activities related primarily to services for ČSOB clients for a long time. We have recently jointly developed a unique service called Poštovní výběr kartou (Postal Card Withdrawal), which is intended mainly for clients of other banks and will give them easier access to cash. We want to continue developing other modern postal services with Mastercard," says Martin Jarolím, member of the ČSOB Group Board of Directors and Senior Director for Retail.

The objectives of the Memorandum are divided into short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. In the short term, the companies are focusing on expanding card payment acceptance.

"One of the goals of the Memorandum is to further expand the possibilities of paying by card for Czech Post services in the field through postal delivery personnel, as well as for services beyond those provided by the postal service. It also includes improvements to the options and services associated with the Czech Post Customer Card," adds Miroslav Štěpán, CEO of Czech Post.

As part of the Memorandum's medium-term goals, the partners will focus on cooperation with municipalities and also want to come up with new effective solutions for the provision of social and other benefits with the aim of ensuring their distribution in a secure and transparent manner.

The cooperation between ČSOB, Mastercard, and Česká pošta also aims to strengthen Česká pošta's competitiveness and enable it to continue offering relevant services to its customers.
