Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle Stamp
Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle Stamp
On Wednesday, October 8, Czech Post will release a new commemorative stamp from the Beauty of Our Homeland series: Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle.
The theme of the stamp is the main facade of Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle and, in the lower left corner, the coat of arms of the castle's last owner, Adolf of Schwarzenberg. Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. The 13th-century castle was gradually rebuilt and in the 19th century, during the reign of the Schwarzenberg family, it acquired its present neo-Gothic appearance. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful English park and offers rich interiors with historical furniture, paintings, tapestries, and weapons.
The stamp was designed by Petr Minka. The denomination of the stamp is represented by the letter "B," which corresponds to a price of 31 crowns, and it has a print run of 385,600 copies. It will be available at the Czech Post e-shop and at selected branches.
