Czech Post celebrated the genius of Jára Cimrman, inventor of the round postage stamp
This day, exactly 174 years and 210 days after the issue of the first rectangular postage stamp in the world, the foundations of philately rocked and the world for the first time ever saw a round postage stamp featuring one of the 136 possible portraits of the genius of Jára Cimrman.

A new postage stamp to mark the November 1939 and 1989 events
Today, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka together with Minister of the Interior Milan Chovanec and Czech Post’s Director General Martin Elkán presented a commemorative stamp issued to mark the 75th anniversary of November 1939 and the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.
Matyáš Vitík became Czech Post’s Communication Director
Matyáš Vitík was appointed new Czech Post’s Communication Director as of 01 October 2014. Before his arrival at Czech Post, he worked as a spokesman for the Ministry of the Environment.
Czech Post stopped sending EMS mail to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions
On request from its Ukrainian counterpart, Czech Post temporarily stopped sending EMS mail addressed to the Ukraininan Donetsk (postcodes 83000-87999) and Luhansk (postcodes 91000-94999) regions.
