Mucha on E- and Z-stamps: Already today, at any post office
Following the great success of the new stamp with Fifinka, the Czech Post offers further self-adhesive stamps, available from Wednesday, May 26th, at any post office. The stamps, identified with the letter E or Z, feature Alfonse Mucha's paintings as well as the next one of the four Čtyřlístek comics characters (Fifinka being the first). The last one is a completely new issue commemorating the victory of the Czech hockey team at the 2010 World Ice Hockey Championship.
The new postage stamps featuring works by Alfons Mucha commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mucha's birth. Their format continues the new trend of the Czech Post - they are self-adhesives, identified with a letter, in a handy booklet.
The first stamp, with a portrait called Gismonda, is identified with the letter E, i.e. it can be used in the European service. The other stamp, with the world famous Mucha's painting of Zodiac, is identified with the letter Z. It can be used in the overseas service (non-European countries), with priority International Ordinary Item up to 20g. Each booklet contains six stamps. The price of a booklet with E- and Z-stamps is CZK 102 or 108, respectively. Each stamp can be used separately or, like stamps identified with a value, several stamps identified with a letter can be combined together to pay the price of postage in domestic or international service.
Leter | Price | Service |
---|---|---|
A | 10 CZK | Ordinary Letter - Standard up to 50g, domestic service |
E | 17 CZK | Ordinary Item up to 20g - European countries, international priority service |
Z | 18 CZK | Ordinary Item up to 20g - non-European countries, international priority service |
Time validity
All these so-called forever stamps have an unlimited time validity. For the price of a given postal service valid at the time of acquisition you will get the possibility to use the stamp at any time afterwards to pay for the same postal service, even if its price increases. Self-adhesive stamps can therefore become a smart long-time investment.
