Consignment posting number

The standard format of a posting number (e.g. DR1234567890C) includes:

  • Prefix, i.e. code of service (normally two letters, e.g. DR - Parcel Delivery To Hand);
  • Code of the consignment, i.e. 9 or 10 digits; and
  • Suffix, i.e. the type of sender’s code (e.g. C) or the ISO code of the country of origin (e.g. GB for Great Britain and Northern Ireland).

Consignments posted abroad may come with a different format of code, specific to the country of origin.

You can use upper- or lowercase letters to enter a posting number containing letters. You can find the consignment posting number in the posting form, in the SMS or email alert or in the Notice dropped into your letter box.

Information on international consignments

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the Track&Trace service, Czech Post is liable for displaying those statuses of consignments which originate in the territory of the Czech Republic.

As soon as the consignment leaves the territory of the Czech Republic, any information about the status of the consignment depends on information provided by the foreign operator.

If the foreign operator fails to deliver information to Czech Post, the Track&Trace application can display no information about the consignment status originated outside the territory of the Czech Republic.

Czech Post is therefore not liable for data provided by foreign operators.

Also please note that certain foreign operators do not enable track&trace services within their territories.
