Česká pošta is a partner of the Psaní od srdce (Writing from the Heart) project, organized by Diakonie Českobratrské církve evangelické (the social welfare organization of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren) in cooperation with TV Nova. The purpose of the event is to bring joy to seniors and break down barriers between people.

Opening hours for the public – public holidays in May 2025

The Czech Post Office has announced the opening hours of its branches and Partner post offices during the upcoming May public holidays, which fall on May 1, 2025 (Labor Day) and May 8, 2025 (Victory Day).

Expo on postage stamps

On Wednesday, April 16, Czech Post will release postage stamps commemorating Expo Osaka 2025. The commemorative letter-sized sheet Expo Osaka 2025: A. Mucha costs CZK 216. The issue was designed by Adam Hoffmeister. The sheet has a print run of 26,000 copies and is available at the Czech Post e-shop or at selected branches.

Czech Post is announcing the opening hours for the public at its branches and Partner post offices during the upcoming Easter holidays, which fall on April 18, 2025 (Good Friday) and April 21, 2025 (Easter Monday).

Adam Hőrzenberger is the new head of Balíkovna

Adam Hőrzenberger was appointed director of Balíkovna on April 1, 2025. He replaced Martin Vránek, director of the financial and corporate services division of Česká pošta, who was temporarily appointed to lead Balíkovna after the departure of Lukáš Rampas.

Czech Post expands services provided to the Labor Office to include employment agenda

Since the beginning of April, selected services provided by the Labor Office have been extended to other branches of the Czech Post. Selected state social support benefits can now be claimed at 509 post offices. By the middle of the year, a total of 752 post offices will be involved in the project. Applications for parental allowance, child allowance, or housing allowance can be processed.

The Mendel University Botanical Garden has received a new stamp

Adam Kašpar is behind the design of a special postage stamp sheet dedicated to the Botanical Garden in Brno, which will be issued on March 19, 2025. The blossoming sheet contains five species of orchids grown in the Botanical Garden and Arboretum of Mendel University in Brno, four of which have their own stamp. These are the orchids: Cattleya forbesi, Phalaenopsis fuscata, Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi, and Cattleya aclandiae.

In April, postal workers will pay out 210,000 pensions in cash 10 days earlier than usual.

The Czech Social Security Administration uses the services of the Czech Post to send pensions in cash. The Czech Post is ready to face a new challenge. Starting in April, 210,000 pensioners who currently receive their pensions in the second half of the month will receive their pensions in cash 10 days earlier. This change was preceded by negotiations and a joint agreement between the Czech Social Security Administration and the Czech Post. Everything is now ready for all clients to receive their pensions during the first half of the month starting in April.

Czech Post is a smart filing office for the Ministry of the Interior's health insurance company

Since the beginning of March, it has been possible to submit applications to the Ministry of the Interior's Health Insurance Company, known as ePodání, at five selected branches of the Czech Post Office. Specifically, these are the post offices in Slaný, Holešov, Dvůr Králové nad Labem, Kuřim, and Tišnov.

From April 1, 2025, Czech Post will switch to a new method of delivering letter mail.

From April 1, 2025, all registered and priority mail will be delivered by carriers with fixed delivery districts, which will be serviced every working day. Česká pošta expects this change to improve the quality of delivery.

The European Commission has approved compensation for Czech Post for services provided to the state

Česká pošta provides services prescribed by its postal license. The European Commission has now approved the legitimacy of compensation in the amount of three billion crowns, which Česká pošta will receive from the state for providing key services in 2023 and 2024. This decision confirms that the compensation awarded meets all the parameters set by legislation.
