Postal Museum joins the Prague Museum Night

The seventh annual Prague Museum Night, newly joined by the Postal Museum in Prague, was held on Saturday, June 12th, 2010. From 7 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. the free museum night attracted such a number of visitors (800) that the building almost collapsed. Curators presented the past and present museum, its collections and the unique building of the museum. A special attraction of the night was a commemorative postcard. The visitors could drop it into a historic mail box to mail it.

Prague Museum Night at the Postal Museum The Postal Museum offered a number of souvenirs relating to post and postal operations. The offer included promotional things of the Czech Post. Visitors appreciated the possibility to mail a commemorative postcard (see the photograph).	Prague Museum Night at the Postal Museum A late 19th century Austrian-Hungarian mail box served its purpose after more than a century. During the night visitors dropped their commemorative postcards into it. The next day the postcards were sent by the Czech Post to the addressees.
