Stamps with Pat and Mat already on sale

A definitive stamp identified with the letter A and portraying figures from a popular TV series of bedtime stories for children Pat and Mat came out 5 October 2011.
The letter A corresponds to the current price of the domestic service Ordinary Letter - Standard up to 50 g (as per the current version of the Pricelist of Basic Postal Services - CZK 10 as of the date of issue).
The stamps with a 23x30 mm vertical picture are available as booklets of 10 and printed by full-colour offset technology by the postal printing house Poštovní tiskárna cenin Praha, a.s. Each booklet has a security hologram of the Czech Post located inside in the left-hand side. The catalogue number of the stamp is 701 and the stamp is valid from 5 October 2011 until revoked.
The stamp and booklet were designed by Jan Chvojka, who also wrote scripts for popular Pat & Mat film series. The stamp portrays the tinkers Pat and Mat in their brotherly embrace. The popular gesture the buddies show on the front page of the booklet makes it absolutely clear that IT WORKS!
You can buy or order booklets of ten stamps (single stamps are not on sale); each booklet costs CZK 100.
FDC motif
The stamp comes with a first day cover and commemorative handstamp. The picture part of the FDC portrays Pat and Mat in a car. Full-colour offset technology is used to print the FDC. The handstamp contains an outline of Pat and Mat's faces with the text: “Prague, 5.10.2011”.
